In 2019, the Indian Govt stated that 6.7% of its population is below the official poverty line. That is a significant improvement from 12.4% in 2012 or More than 80 million people were lifted out of the poverty line in seven years thanks to the efforts of individuals and NGOs dedicated to education along with stellar efforts of the Government. This is a living testimonial to those who believed that:
“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to them who prepare for it today.”
COVID-19 has shown that the most affected by this pandemic are those at the bottom of the pyramid and we must leverage the widespread awareness and desire to collaborate with each other. With this goal, WHEELS is proud to present some NGOs led by visionaries and their lots of love in our webinar to reach out to those viewing discussions that you too can make a difference.
The session will be chaired by Prof Kannan Mudgalya of IIT-Mumbai and the developer of Spoken Tutorials — a technology tool that can make teaching in major languages while standard content in English is displayed on the computer screen. This is how WHEELS is accelerating communication of best practices in a multilingual society and can collaborate for access to education in local languages.
The objective of the Webinar:
1. Describe how the project got initiated and how did you meet the challenges.
2. What are unique success factors that enabled you to expand.?
3. What are the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic?
4. How do you think you can collaborate with other NGOs on the panel and WHEELS to leverage the opportunities in Post Covid India?
Please join us on Friday, October 23rd, 2020, from 11 am to 12:30 pm (US EST), and 8:30 pm to 10 pm (IST) to participate in a lively discussion.
