RuralShores / PeopleShores

WGF’s Livelihood & Sustainability Council’s (LSC) mission is to enhance rural economy through co-creating and advancing rural enterprises, using technology innovations and scientific processes, sharing best practices and developing techniques to foster trade and employment for rural populations.

RuralShores/PeopleShores – Breaking Cycles of Generational Poverty

Problem Description & Solution Approach:

In most of the world (developing or developed), economic development (and associated prosperity or lack thereof) is facing an accelerating chasm between large metro cities and smaller towns, forcing massive migrations of working-age youth to ever-more crowded metro centers and hollowing out smaller towns – ‘heart & soul’ of societies.

Realizing that lack of technology-related good-paying jobs is the key root cause, RuralShores has developed an innovative model of ‘IT Delivery Centers’ in tier-3/4/5 cities & towns, where high-school youth are enabled with IT & business skills, and provide adjacent businesses a lower-cost ISO-certified quality services. This fully self-sustainable solution has created a huge win-win for everyone – communities, corporations, young talent.

After RuralShores success in India, the same model has been replicated as PeopleShores.
